Page and Deacon Willie Beard of New Hope Baptist Church of East Orange
began a ministry to residents of the Essex County Geriatric Center located
in Belleville, New Jersey. A group of worshippers very similar to a
church congregation grew out of what was an attempt to minister to
and encourage ill and dying seniors. Others in the New Hope Missionary
Department got involved and helped build the ministry into a wonderful demonstration
of what a local congregation can offer to those that are sick, shut-in
and unable to attend regular church worship services.
